Function unit 1 part2 1. f (x) =-x+7x- 6 f (x) =(-x+1)(x - 6) - x+1=0 - x =-1 X=1 X - 6=0 1 g (x) =- X =6 - X- +7x - 6 x-intercept is (1,0)and (6,0). It's a negative quadratic function. The reciprocal of quadratic graph has horizontal asymptote at y=0 Vertical asymptote at x- intercept, x=1 and x=6 Since function is increasing from infinity negative to zero. Therefore, one decreasing curve will be on the bottom left side of the vertical asymptote x=1 and the other decreasing curve will be on the top left of the vertical asymptote x=1 Function is decreasing from zero to negative. Therefore, one increasing curve will be on the bottom right side of the vertical asymptote x=6 and the other increasing curve will be on the top right of the vertical asymptote x=6 The function has maximum point of (3.5,6.25), so the reciprocal has minimum point of (3.5,0.16) (I have uploaded the hand drawn graph on the other pdf file.)
