Gaston and LeFou are university mates. They went to the lake one day as they heard that a huge monitor lizard lives in it. As they stood by the edge of the lake, Gaston decided to push LeFou in for fun. LeFou fell into the lake and he panicked as he cannot swim. He started to drown. Lumiere and Cogsworth were walking near the lake at that time. Knowing that Cogsworth is a trained lifeguard, Gaston called to him to help rescue LeFou. Both Lumiere and Cogsworth walked away. LeFou drowned. Gaston chased after Lumiere and shouted at him while shaking his fist. Gaston said that he was going to make Lumiere pay for not helping. Cogsworth, Lumiere's good friend was nearby and confronted Gaston. Cogsworth told Gaston to stay away from Lumiere and that what happened to LeFou was all Gaston's own fault. Filled with rage, Gaston started to punch Lumiere, saying 'I'll kill you first'. No one fights like Gaston. Lumiere was certainly no match for Gaston. Gaston beats Lumiere to death. Discuss the possible liabilities of the parties and the possible defences that could be raised.
