Gate Restriction Exercises Complete the following exercises. Show all of your work and explain any assumptions made (think about how an airport operation works). Exercise 1: An aircraft landed at NY LaGuardia (LGA) at 6:35 AM (0635). The aircraft requires 10 minutes to taxi to gate and "block in". This aircraft requires 27 minutes of turnaround time to depart. There is only one gate available at LGA. A second operation is needed to LGA to meet business demands with a block time of 3 hrs and 7 minutes from the origination airport. As it is necessary for the second aircraft to arrive in LGA as early as possible because businesses have morning meetings in New York, determine the most appropriate departure time from the origination airport necessary to arrive at LGA as early as possible but still have an available gate. Departure and Arrival airports are in the same time zones.
