General content: The general idea behind this assessment is that you are reecting on who you are in the world and how your identity has been shaped by others and your own actions. By comparing and contrasting yourself with your group members, you can then also reect on how having had different experiences has shaped each of you differently. If you are unsure where to start this process, we suggest you each start reecting on yourself as an individual. You can use the following questions[1]. Which social identity/identities... - are you most aware of? - do you think about the least? - do you have the earliest memories of? - do you experience others responding to the most (positively and/ or negatively)? - has/have an impact on how you see yourself (positively and/ or negatively)? Some of these questions can feature directly in your video, or it might just help you get a conversation going when you compare your answers with your group members. Once you together have a few key social identity categories selected, organise those reections in an academically informed way. Key things to note: - The use of Alvesson and Willmott's concepts is required, but we also expect you to use some of the other concepts provided in the assigned literature and lecture. No need to do research beyond what we have given you. - Make sure that you tell an 'academic narrative' next to your individual narrative. By this we mean that it wouldn't make much sense to keep referring to identity work and regulation throughout the video, without deepening your understanding of these concepts as the video develops. In tutorials, we provide tips on how to do this. - Some guiding questions to get an academic discussion going (make sure to attach the appropriate concepts and articles!): 0 How does being a member of your social identity groups affect your behaviour? 0 How do you know what appropriate behaviour is and do you conform to these expectations? 0 How do you present yourself in different contexts and why? 0 How do the different group members differ in their identity construction and what might be the reasons for this? Genre: Do not underestimate the importance of picking a genre We want you to be deliberate with the genre you are choosing and implement it consistently We are offering the following few genres as examples to get your creative juices owing (this is not an exhaustive list!): - Video as if posted on a social media platform (Tiktok, Instagram Reels, Snapchat) o This could come with music, emoticons, text, dances, lters, etc. More playful in tone. . Investigative journalism (e,g., Four Corners) o This should introduce a topic of investigation, come with a presenter and potentially include expert interviews. Generally, tone would be more serious and perhaps even 'shocking/revelatory'. - Documentary 0 This should inform the viewer about a particular topic, have explicit narration (text or voice) and generally be more serious in tone. . Talk show 0 This should come with a presenter and guests (think about how every one contributes a discussion of themselves though). Could be more question and answer driven
