Business Problem/Scope Statement:
GB Manufacturing requires an automated system to check in and out tools from their warehouse. While they have an additional issue with inventory management, the scope of this project will focus on stored tools and not consumables. These include but not limited to, hammers, power tools, tape measures and other equipment. The task force has identified a yearly asset loss of $50,000 per year in lost or stolen tools. An automated system tied to an employee id, the tools that were checked out and the date in which they were checked out will help minimize these losses.
Project Objectives:
Establish a toolbox database.
Match an employee database.
Scanner system used to Check out these toolboxes.
Create a company policy and procedure when checking these toolboxes out including verifying received goods.
