Generally, when we think about evaluation in clinical supervision, what comes to mind is the evaluation of the supervisee's skills and performance. While the evaluation process is certainly an important aspect of supervision, the supervisor must also be prepared to self-reflect and consider his or her own performance. In fact, many supervisors engage in peer-consultation models that are useful in assessing the supervisor's performance and their contributions to supervisee issues. Similar to counseling, supervision requires the practitioner to engage in a continuous process of reflection, renewed understanding, and professional growth.
