This Oral Presentation Assignment is based on the Student Course Project and is designed to provide the Student with best practices in preparing, presenting and "selling in" specific Strategic Management Initiatives.

- Demonstrates interpersonal communication skills in collaborative projects, through persuasive speech, and in providing clear directions, instructions, and guidelines within a business setting.

- The Oral Presentation Assignment is based on the Student Course Project.
- Please review the Course Project construct and format as well as the Course Project Work-In-Progress Timetable stated below.
- The Oral Presentation Assignment is designed to orient the Student to the best practices regarding oral communications presentations in today's enterprise environment.
- The primary oral presentation tool is MS PowerPoint.
- Review the Assignment grading criteria stated in section 4 of this document.

- The assignment required the following deliverables;
- Preparation of a PowerPoint presentation to present and "sell-in" the Strategic Management Initiatives to the selected client. We will use the video conferencing platform - Zoom.
- The presentation time is 30 minutes. 20 minutes for the actual presentation and 10 minutes for Q&A (Questions and Answers).
- The Student PowerPoint slides will be presented at the end of the course on a video conferencing platform - Zoom. (We will provide more details regarding signing up for this software.)
- Refer to the Course Project Work-In-Progress Timetable provided to organize your Oral Presentation.
Course Project Outline as Content for the Oral Communication Signature Assignment
- The Course Project is an individual Student assignment.
- The Course Project is based on the strategic management framework stated in the course text book, "Strategic Management in Action".
- The Student will develop the Course Project from the perspective of a Consulting firm (i.e., McKinsey & Co.).
- The Student is a Strategic Management Consultant from McKinsey & Co. that has been contracted by the Client to provide findings and recommendations focused on specific set of Strategic Management Initiatives.
- The Course Project is based on Student chosen Industry / Company / Brand based on their career interests. This would also include selecting a Student's current employer.
- Each week each Student will provide a verbal update of any and all issues during the Professor Weekly Conference Call.
- We will discuss and review McKinsey & Co. methodology during the course.
- During each class in the Course we will discuss any and all issues you are facing in the Course Project Assignment. In addition, you can email or call the Professor at any time to discuss any and all issues you face.
- A specific sample outline / format is available for review in the course text book on page 231 - "How to Comprehensive Case Analysis".
- Also refer to the Sample Case Analysis on page 237 for further insights.
- Use this methodology and format in the text to complete assigned Course Project.
- Select an enterprise / company / strategic business unit for your Course Project.
- You can choose your current employer or your ideal / future employer. Or utilize the comprehensive cases for analysis on page 245.
- Select a specific set of Strategic Management Initiatives based on your chosen enterprise / company. Sample initiatives are (but not limited to);
- New Product Launch
- Strategic Business Unit Merger or Acquisition
- New Business Development
- Restructuring
- Global Expansion
- As a final deliverable, prepare MS Word / Excel written analysis. We will discuss this further during each week in the course. The Student final document is due the final week of the course.
- As a final deliverable, prepare PowerPoint presentation of your specific Strategic Management Initiatives recommendations to be presented to the Client. We will discuss this further during each week in the course. . The Student final document is due the final week of the course.

- Each Programmatic Learning Outcome - PLO - will have the following specific grading criteria and standards to be presented during the course.
