The interest rate on the loan is 3.5% and the applicable prescribed rate is 9%. PSS Ltd. provides her with a van to assist her in the performance of her duties. The van was bought in 2016 at a cost of $3,750,000 and is mainly used for company business. The company provided her with a credit card in May to purchase groceries for her home. The cost of these groceries was $32,500 and service charges of $2,700. Gill paid the company for the cost of the groceries but did not pay for the service charges for the card. An entertainment allowance of $40,000 per month is also part of the package. Gill contributes 10% of her basic salary towards an approved pension scheme.
