Global Beverage Inc. has undergone dramatic growth in recent years. To help manage this growth the management team transitioned the organisation from an informal structure to a functional structure five years ago. More recently they transitioned to a divisional structure based on geographic regions. Consultation and empowerment are valued throughout the organisation. However, senior managers are worried about the harmful effects of Silos. Collaboration between the divisions is becoming very rare. They are now considering a matrix structure based on regions by product line as depicted in the diagram below.
