Glory Ltd is a homeware store. Martin, one of the store's employees, whose responsibility was to collect up shopping trolleys from the store's car park. As Martin was pushing a long row of trolleys, he lost control of them. The trolleys crashed into a car owned by a customer. Charis, who was a customer and was about to collect her car, witnessed what happened. She went to the store manager and reported what she had seen, making it clear that the accident was Martin's fault. Martin overheard this conversation and became very angry. Half an hour later Martin was off work. He waited outside the store, and when he saw Charis left the store he followed her to the car park and pushed her violently causing her to fall to the floor, breaking Charis' right arm. Charis had suffered arm injuries from playing badminton in the past two weeks.
