goggles-1.sav run a two-way ANOVA. Consider the following example and then answer the questions:
According to Field (2005), an anthropologist was interested in the effects of alcohol on mate selection in nightclubs. His reasoning was that after he had consumed alcohol, the subjective perception of physical attractiveness would become more inaccurate. He was also interested to know if this effect was different for men and women.
He chose 48 students: 24 men and 24 women. He then took groups of eight participants to a nightclub and gave the first group a non-alcoholic beer, the second group 2 pints of strong beer or and the third group 4 pints of strong beer. In the evening, he took a photograph of the person the participant was conversing with. He then obtained a group of independent judges to evaluate the attractiveness of the person in each photograph (out of 100).
- Enter the independent variables and the dependent variable.
- Indicate the null and alternative hypotheses.
- Run the appropriate analysis and include the Levene (Homogeneity of Variance) test and the Between-Subjects Effects test (Cut and paste the results of the Levene test and then explain the meaning of this test). The results of the analysis should be presented using the table provided at the end of the task; students should obtain the results from the SPSS tables and transcribe them to the table below. There is no need to copy all SPSS tables directly, only the required information.
- Report the mean and standard deviation for each IV level (cut and paste).
- What is your decision regarding the null hypothesis (i.e., you rejected or did not reject the null hypothesis)? Explain your answer in terms of each p-value reported in the tablein the previous question (see table below). You must have 3 decisions here (to match the 3 effects in the table above).
- Publish Estimated Marginal Averages of data attractiveness
- Using Morgan et al, write a sample results section. Be sure to include each of the three p-values in your writing of the results
