Gojek and Tokopedia merge to become GoTo

Gojek and Tokopedia officially merged and gave birth to a newentity called GoTo at the end of May 2021. Meanwhile, PTApplications Karya Anak Bangsa (AKAB) is the parent company thatoversees GoTo. Previously, PT AKAB became the company name forGojek. VP of Corporation Communication Tokopedia, Nuraini Razak,said GoTo will take advantage of Indonesia's huge and mostattractive digital economy potential in Southeast Asia. Head of theE-Commerce Association (idEA) Bima Laga assessed that, regardingthe prospects, Indonesia's digital economy does have enormouspotential to grow into one of the world's giants.
