Good afternoon, According to the pillars within the risk framework as a leader ther are 4 key pillars to understand, they are risk identification, risk assessment, risk mitigation, and risk monitoring and reporting. As a leader and a company maintenance chief I have been put in many situations that require me to use these pillars during deployment and ensuring the mission and intent was met with minimal issues. A sittuation that I can relate on is during a workup training that we were doing before we deployed on ship. We were given a gearset of amphibious assault vehicles that were in a non operational status and we were still required to conduct deployment training qualifications as well as ensure the same set of vehicles were in a operation status to take on deployment. As a leader directing my Marines on the maintenance that needs to get done I looked at the vehicles and identiied what was needing to get fixed for troop transportation and to be able to complete the closest task without them going in the water. Yes the vehicles were still considered deadline to a certain extent but with approval and justification we were able to justify exception
