Good evening class!
In this scenario, I would not be able to ethically approve the mortgage because they are under the income threshold. With the understanding that there is a mortgage quota at the bank, this is not the way to meet this mark, as it will cause issues later on for all parties involved. Regarding the text about how to resist requests unethically, even when being told to do so by a supervisor, the worker can seek out other management for support regarding the decision to deny the people applying even though there is a quota. Each person employed by the bank needs to think about their corporate social responsibility as well; they are to advocate for both parties involved, as they are working for the customer in this sense.
This case brings about the topic of ethically thinking and acting in the workplace as well. The supervisor is acting in an unethical matter because they do not care about the customer well being or even the bank, as the loan has the potential of going into foreclosure.
