Your law office is handling a felony-murder case. In this case, the defendant and the accomplice entered a house to steal the homeowner's personal items that are collectively worth less than $17. However, as soon as they were discovered by the homeowner, they started to run away. The homeowner shot and killed the accomplice. Your supervisor would like to know whether the defendant can be charged with felony-murder, a serious crime in the State of Michigan.
