: Good to go Fall 2023 MAT 152 Critical Thinking Project Introduction You have been chosen to present your paper on the project described below to a room full of individuals with minimal statistical understanding. Complete this project by providing explanations that everyone in the room can understand. Student Learning Objectives This project relates to the following course objectives: e Organize, display, calculate, and interpret descriptive statistics. e Analyze sample data to draw inferences about a population parameter. e Communicate results through a variety of media. Instructions According to the Annual 2022 National Climate Report by the National Centers for Environmental Information, the U.S. daytime average high temperature in 2022 is 65.7F. This project requires you to research 30 U.S. cities, seeking one that closely mirrors the average 2022 U.S. daytime high temperature. 30 U.S. Cities Los Angeles, CA | New York, NY Chicago, IL Dallas, TX Washington, DC Kansas City, MO [ Atlanta, GA Phoenix, AZ San Francisco, CA Seattle, WA Minneapolis, MN St. Louis, MO Charlotte, NC Orlando, FL San Antonio, TX Portland, OR Pittsburgh, PA Las Vegas, NV Memphis, TN New Orleans, LA Omaha, NE Salt Lake City, UT | Billings, MT El Paso, TX From the given list of 30 cities, choose a city that you believe will closely reflect the average U.S. daytime high temperature in 2022. Explain why you chose this particular city, including any assumptions. Are there any cities you immediately eliminated? Why? Next, collect at least 30, no more than 60, daytime high temperatures from your selected city in 2022. Describe your process for selecting this data and what you guess your outcome will be. Include the sampling technique you chose to collect your data and any pertinent information. What would be the bias in choosing your sample? Be sure to cite the sources you used. Next, calculate the mean and standard deviation of the daytime high temperatures collected for the city you have chosen. Using the U.S. average daytime high temperature i 65.7 F, test the claim with a = 0.05. Now that you have your results, think about whether the conclusion was as you predicted. What changes to your process could have been implemented to yield a different result
