Goolwa Pipi Co is a 100% Indigenous owned business that harvests pipis (similar to clams) from South Australia. They collect the pipis, clean and package them for sale all across Australia, including at major outlets like Costco. Goolwa Pipi Co has the following processes: Sales are managed by the Sales Manager who uses information from the harvesting manager about how many pipis have been harvested each day and the bids from wholesale customers about how much they want to purchase and at what price. A Software as a Service (SaaS) product is used and manages all of the payments, bids and sales. Office and administration staff are paid a regular salary per year. Staff who work in harvesting are paid based on an hourly rate. The staff members submit time sheets based on the hours they estimate they work. The accounting manager prepares payments based on these submissions. Suppliers are paid on a monthly basis and the accountant prepares a 3 way match between the purchase order, invoice and proof of receipt of the supplies. At the end of the month, the accountant prepares the bank reconciliation which is reviewed by 2 Directors of Goolwa - they sign if everything
