Gordon Bombay, an employee with the law firm Ducksworth, Saver, and Gross, finds out that when Ducksworth hires new employees, they do not provide healthcare coverage for any pre-existing condition.Bombay knows this is a violation of the Affordable Care Act.

So, Bombay prepares a memorandum describing the issue, and leaves it on the desk of his boss Jack Reilly.He also mails a copy to the Office of the Inspector General for the US Department of Health and Human Services. One week later it is found out that Bombay was arrested for drunk driving and is now completing his community service.
