Gordon just moved to Charlotte with his dog Barkley. One day while they were out for a walk, Gordon noticed a really nice dog park but it was locked. He used the contact information on the sign on the fence to find out how he could use the dog park so that Barkley could run around. Gordon found out that the dog park was privately run by a non-profit club. Members paid dues of $10 per month or $100 if you paid for the entire year in advance. The dues were used to pay a local company to maintain and clean the park. The people in charge of the non-profit were basically volunteers. None of them were paid for their time; they just wanted to have a nice dog park in the neighborhood.

Gordon thought it was a great idea and he signed up for a 1-year membership and paid his $100 immediately. He was given the code to the lock on the gate. He and Barkley used the dog park at least once a week and they both made some good new friends. One day, Gordon and Barkley arrived at the park and found that the lock had been removed and there was a new sign on the gate. That is when Gordon discovered that the club didn't own the park and they never had permission to use it! The park actually belonged to the city and the founders of the club just decided to put a lock on the gate and clean things up because the city never did. After that, the dog park got very crowded and dirty. Gordon and Barkley stopped going and started looking for a new place for Barkley to run. In a post of at least, respond to the following:

  1. Explain whether this is a void or breached contract.
  2. Explain whether Gordon is entitled to any compensation. If so, what amount would be fair?
