Gottman (1999) has a comprehensive checklist related to gender roles and division of labor (pp. 298-300). This checklist is used to help the therapist assist the couple in understanding and appreciating one another's the roles and responsibilities. It can also be used to help the couple develop their own agreement of the division of labor and arrived at a shared meaning of what is fair in their relationship
