Experiment No. 3 PITCH (How high or low the sound is) I. Problem: How does the amount of water and air in a glass affect the pitch as you tap the glass? II. Hypothesis: III. Materials: 4 glasses (same sizes and each filled with different amount of water) Water Metal spoon IV. Procedure: A B C D 1. Fill each glass with different amount of water. Label the glasses, A, B C, & D. 2. Tap each glass with a metal spoon. 3. Observe and listen to the pitch as you tap each glass.V. Observation: 1. What is pitch? When is pitch high? When is pitch low? 2. Among the glasses you tapped, which has the highest pitch? 3. Among the glasses you tapped, which glass has the lowest pitch? 4.
