Great point Rodolfo. How often do you hear it said about like products, "They have different brand names, but the internal components are all the same." I'm not sure companies that produce similar product would gain by completely vertically integrating, but perhaps they could identify the suppliers with the highest or more cost sensitive components and lock them into exclusivity agreements in their contracts
