Group Assignment

Company ABC is expanding their manufacturing capability. They manufacture automobile parts from plastics. Primarily the manufacture car bumper and other interior plastics parts.

You and your team is working as a project management group to design, procure and install a brand new plants that have followings:

1. Leased facility ( no building to be constructed, its already there)
2. You will procure 50 Husky injection molding machine and instal there.
3. The competitor of ABC is also doing a similar expansion that recently published in news. Timing is important to be ahead of the game. You want to be making the projects earlier that other company.
4. You will procure machine directly from Husky (https://www.husky.co/en/industries/consumer-goods/ )or Angel (https://www.engelglobal.com/en/ca/industries/plastic-injection-molding-automotive )injection molding machine.
5. You are hiring mechanical, electrical and structural contractors to install those fifty machines.
6. You have six months to complete the project to be ahead of your client's competitor project.

Please do the followings as a group:

1)Complete project charter

2)Do the risk analysis and color-coded risk mapping as taught in class

3)Negotiate with husky and Engel company and select the right injection mold machine for auto parts. Explain which machine you selected and why (performance. Cost etc and your negotiation technique as taught in class, remember no answer is right or wrong. I want to see your negotiations skill here)

4) During middle of project, one of your key member, Ravi left the company and Ravi was doing an important role. The team morale has gone down as company announced, they are not hiring any new replacement. So, you are managing Ravi's work distributed to others. Discuss, how you will handle this situation and manage the extra load/work which was done by Ravi. Describe how you are going to engage/motivate your team in this situation.
