Group Project and Presentation Weighting: Report: 15 % Write up: 5% Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to confirm the understanding and application of quality, quality measurement and the reporting of quality in organizations within the supply chain. Concept/Scenario: You have been appointed as a consultant for an organization and are tasked with improving quality of a particular process. The executive wants a report from your team. In addition, your team has also been tasked with making a presentation to the executive. Please view the presentation Rubric at end of this document for marking criteria of the presentation. Instructions: 1. Who: This activity will be done in groups as assigned by the instructor. 2. Where: This assignment is to be completed outside of scheduled classroom hours. 3. What: Students are to: Select an organization of your choice. The organization must be a Canadian organization. They cannot be TESLA, Apple, Microsoft, Loblaw, Superstore, Walmart, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, GM, Google. You are also free to create a fictious organization with a real product.
  • Conduct research on the organization using external resources as well as Bow Valley library resources.
  • Apply concepts learnt in this class and answer the following questions in your report.
  • What definition of quality would apply to the organization?
  • What theories of quality are they more aligned to? Please explain why you think so.
  • What part of the process are you most concerned with?

  • What needs to be measured?

4. When: To be completed as per the Course Schedule. 5. How: Format essay requirements as per the individual assignment rubric indicated below. a. Additional requirements:
  • This paper will be 3,500 words and will include a table of contents.
  • A minimum of three external sources (references) are to be used for this paper.
  • Format and label tables as per APA standards.
  • The paper will be the basis of the Final Team Presentation.
Marking Rubric (Essay & Presentation Components): Your essay will be marked as follows: Late Assignments will not be accepted. Thoughts and materials from a source must be cited and referenced as per APA. This includes but is not limited to written, electronic, power points, presentations, interviews, speeches, videos, movies.
