Each group will be required to perform a thorough longitudinal analysis of a company and the industry in which it operates. Groups may either choose their \"strategic topic\" based on the course material (i.e., focusing on one significant strategic issue a company faces) or look at multiple issues related to strategy ;iormuiation and/or implementation. Eacl'En group will be required to submit a 15-2 page report Times Roman 12 point font report including industry analysis msment. but excluding Laurentian University Faculty of Management MGMT 5121EL e title page. executive summary, table of contents, tables, charts, appendices etc.). Each report should include: 1) title page, 2) table of contents, 3) executive summary, 4} statement of the problem(s), 5) company background, 6) analysis of external environment, 7) internal analysis, ) 3 to 4 viable alternatives, 9) decision criteria, 10) decision/recommendation, 11) implementation and contingency plan, 12) list of references, and 13) appendices. Students will be required to conduct research using various resources such as the library, internet, and business search to provide an exhaustive research. Following the writing of the longitudinal analysis, students are expected to become experts in their selected field. The analysis will be presented before the class. The analysis will have to be submitted to the professor at the beginning of the class on the day it is scheduled for presentation. Students will receive additional instructions at a later time by the professor. The group industry analysis and presentation count for 25% of your final grade. Your grade will also be based on evaluations by your teammates. Note A one (1) page proposal for the industry analysis will have to be submitted for approval at a date that will be communicated by the professor. The proposal must specify the chosen industry along with its description. Students will also be asked to indicate the sources of information they intend to use.
