GSCI 1035 Assignment 2 Stakeholder Presentations Stake holder Assignment Due: Week 6, Friday, February 18, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. Goal of this group assignment is to discuss the environmental sustainability of an activity from different perspectives and submit an interactive digital learning object. Digital Learning Object Worth: 15% of final grade Introduction: All members of the group are residents of a growing town 100 kilometres north of the nearest coast. You have heard a member of the community suggesting that they would like to invest in establishing a fish and seafood restaurant in this area. You and your friends are discussing this new proposal and have differing opinions based on your position perspective: 1. As a community member 2. As an environmentalist 3. As a local business owner Instructions: Taking into consideration what you have learned in modules 1 and 2 about environmental sustainability, sustainable development, the 1-PAT model and carrying capacity, each group member must choose a perspective from the list above and create a digital learning object expressing whether or not this type of business can be sustainable. Therefore, for a group of three you will have to submit three digital learning objects. Each group member must also include in their digital learning object: 1. 3-5 pros for the establishment of this business in this town 2. 3-5 negative implications or concerns you may have based on the perspective you have chosen Please provide data where applicable to support your views in the digital learning object. 10% of the grade is dedicated to the individual digital learning object In addition: Written Conclusion :5% 5% of the grade is dedicated to one written submission completed as a group: 1. Conclusion section (one paragraph) - Pulling together what each stakeholder stated, use this section to describe the main points of view regarding the plan proposed by the business. References (APA format; 2-3 references per stakeholder/group member; alphabetical order) A Digital Learning Object is a modular resource that can be used to support learning. Usually, a learning object would take one part of a subject and explain it in a way so that others could easily grasp the concept. Your object will contain visuals and text but may also include audio and interactive elements. What could it be? A narrated power point, or power point video. A short movie (3-5 minutes), animated or illustrated in some way. (You could use tools such as iMovie, Moviemaker, Powtoon, Moovly, Xtranormal, Videoscribe.) It could be a filmed movie or a mash-up with audio. An educational online game that teaches your topic An interactive Presentation (tools-Haiku Deck, Slides, Prezi, a narrated presentation posted on a site like Authorstream) A storytelling application illustrating your subject A Complex Infographic illustrating your topic An online Comic book illustrating your topic Curated information on your subject with use of blog, website or other platform . Any other type of interactive presentation/activity posted online on your subject Any other format not listed here. Assignment Submission: Each group will submit three individual links to the three group digital learning objects that are to be done individually and one conclusion document (in word format) that has been done as a group. When submitting your digital learning object, make sure that it has your name, student number and date, so that I can grade your work individually. When submitting your conclusion make sure there is a cover page with the names of all three group members, as well as a reference page.
