This week, on an episode of The Morning Bull Show, radiohost Rob Lederman made disgusting, racist comments about Blackwomen during a conversation about toast.

One of the cohosts then asked, "Is Gayle King in yourrealm?"
"Gayle King is not even on my toaster level," Ledermanreplied.
Comparing Black women and their skin tones to toast isdemeaning, inappropriate, and racist.
After the conversation aired on the show, ESPN reporterMarcel Louis-Jacques tweeted the clip, saying, "Didn’t hear thislive but internet keeps receipts. @97RockBuffalo morning hostscompared how they like their toast to Black women’s skin tone. So,just in case y’all missed it too, take a listen."
Halle Berry replied to the video by quote-tweeting itand saying, "Disgusting. It’s ridiculous this type of nonsense isstill being broadcasted across airwaves. ALL Black women arebeautiful and worthy, Rob Lederman. GTFOH."
Since then, a representative for Cumulus Media confirmedon Thursday to People magazine that Lederman has been fired. Thestatement reads:
Cumulus Media operates from a clearly defined set ofprogramming principles, and there is no question that RobLederman's comments made on The Morning Bull Show are in directviolation of those principles. We swiftly terminated him andsuspended the remainder of the show's on-air talent. We apologizeand deeply regret the incident.
Lederman also apologized in a statement on Twittersaying, "I want to sincerely apologize for hurting people with myfoolish and ignorant comments." He also said he "reached out to thelocal NAACP, [his] friends in the clergy from the African-Americancommunity, as well as the Mayor's office to seek theirguidance."
Serena and Gayle have not responded to Lederman'scomments, but we will update this post if they do.
