have been aware of the Fibonnaci Sequence for a few years now, but only on surface level. I was not aware of the special variations! The squaring of the numbers absolutely blew me away. In addition, Arthur Benjamin just kept shocking me with all the patterns of the Fibonnaci numbers, and those were just his favorites he said. The way Arthur Benjamin speaks about the Fibonnaci numbers is quite inspiring. You can absolutely tell that he has found his passion in math and has fulfilled his destiny. I also love his theory about how math needs to be more fun and inspiring. When he first said this, I immediately thought back to my high school days and dreading my geometry class because I was not a fan of the class. I think if schooling focused more on the application and creativity of math, there would be increased grades and overall better feelings and views about math in general.

The Fibonnaci Sequence have always been in existence but are rarely referenced other than those who are in a math based profession. One of my favorite examples of the use of the Fibonnaci Sequences in the songLateralus by Tool. This whole song (and many more from the album) was written in the same number sequence as the Fibonnaci numbers by using unique time signature changes to emphasize the use of the first few numbers of the sequence :1-1-2-3-5-8. Truly a great song mathematically and musically; if you have not heard it I highly recommend it.
