He instructions us in ALL areas of life

As I was reading Hebrews, I came across some verses that amazed me for their simplicity and practicality. These verses state the same thing I find myself saying to clients frequently when dealing with estate planning and probate. Is it not amazing how the Lord touches on all areas of our lives?!

"For where a will is involved, the death of the one who made it must be established. For a will takes effect only at death, since it is not in force as long as the one who made it is alive." Hebrews 9:16-17

Every time I read the Scriptures, I learn something new about how complete God is and how greatly he loves me by the attention He gives to the details. The author of Hebrews is explaining in that chapter the nature of covenants with God and using the sequence of events for a will to go into effect as an example of one of the natures of a covenant with God. A simple concept, or so it seems. Since I have had to explain the nature of a will many, many times to lay people, it really must not be that simple. It is just an area in which I am very familiar and is a language that I have learned to speak with greater ease. As you learn more about the nature of contracts and the impact our laws have on businesses, I challenge you to look for examples in Scripture that are applicable. The greatest of these examples are the covenants that God has made with His people.
