HE QUESTIONS I NEED HELP WITH ARE G and H. (assuming the others are correct).

What I have below for G & H is apparently wrong. Feedback received for help from professor is limited. I have put TWO answers for each below and that theyre wrong. I can provide the other information before this as necessary. I have seen many other resources on here with the same issues, but apparently all those answers are wrong (?)

  1. After the price floor is instituted, the legal minimum price that can be charged by suppliers is $70 per barrel. The maximum price that a few of the consumers are still willing to pay is $100 per barrel of gosum berries. With the price floor at $70 per barrel, consumers buy 300 barrels of gosum berries per month. How muchconsumer surplusis createdwith the price floor?Show your calculations.

Answer: Consumer Surplus = (Base X Height) Area of the triangle 70-100-300

= (300 X (100 - 70)

= (300 X 30)

= (9,000)

Consumer Surplus = 4,500

  1. After the price floor is instituted, the Chairman of Productions Office buys up any barrels of gosum berries that the producers are not able to sell. With the price floor, the producers sell 300 barrels per month to consumers, but the producers, at this high price floor, produce 700 barrels per month. How much producer surplus is createdwith the price floor?Show your calculations.

Answer: Producer Surplus = Rectangle (Base X Height) + (base x height)

= 300 X (70-30)

= 300 X 40

= 12,000

= (300 X 30)

= (9,000)

= 12,000 + 4,500

Producer Surplus = 16,500

  1. The Chairman of Production's Office buys any barrels of gosum berries that the producers are not able to sell. With the price floor, the producers sell 300 barrels per month to consumers; but the producers, at this high price floor, produce 700 barrels per month. How much money does the chairman of production's office spend on buying up gosum berries?Show your calculations.

Price floor = Consumer buy 300 Barrels at $70.00 each and the Chairman buys the difference of 300-700=400 Barrels at $70.00 each which = $28,000.

  1. The Emperor of Gondwanaland must collect taxes from the people to pay for the purchases of surplus gosum berries by the Chairman of Production's Office. As a result, total surplus (producer plus consumer) is reduced by the amount the Chairman of Production's Office spent on buying surplus gosum berries. Using your answers for problems d, e, and f above, what is the total surplus when there is a price floor?Show your calculations.

Consumer Surplus + Producer Surplus = Total Surplus

= 4,500 + 16,500 then = 21,000 (This is wrong as a final answer, as it does not address including D)

28000-21000 = 7000 (THIS IS ALSO WRONG AS A FINAL ANSWER as he stated, why would I minus 21k from 28k?)

  1. How does this compare to thetotal surplus without a price floorfrom question c above? Is it more, or less, and by how much?

Without the price floor = 25,000

With the price floor = 21,000

Difference of 4,000 less (THIS IS APPARENTLY WRONG AS WELL)

25000-7000 = 18000 (THIS IS ALSO WRONG APPARENTLY)
