he State of Texas has licensing or certification laws for counselors, marriage and family therapists, and providers of alcohol and substance abuse treatment. A psychologist in Texas: A. is authorized to practice career counseling, marriage and family therapy, and offer alcohol or substance abuse treatment if he/she is trained in these areas. B. must obtain the appropriate license or certification to practice in these areas. C. may practice counseling, but may not offer marriage and family therapy or alcohol or substance abuse treatment unless appropriate additional licenses are obtained. D. may not practice counseling and marriage and family therapy or alcohol or substance abuse treatment unless additional certification or licensure is obtained
