Healthcare injustice is an unfortunate common occurrence throughout the United States. Many communities do not have access or proper funding to receive adequate and equal health care compared to others. This leads to poorer health conditions, increases in substance abuse and addiction, and a decrease in life expectancy. In this assignment, you will identify a specific geographical location in which health resources, specifically substance abuse, are limited and a need for proper healthcare is warranted.
While working as the Substance Abuse Director for your state's health department, you are notified that the department has received a grant from the federal government. A portion of the grant ($10,000) is being distributed to address substance abuse problems throughout the state. You must decide how to best use these funds to improve the quality of care that substance abuse patients receive in your state.
