1. WHAT IS A PROJECT? What is NOT a project? Consider any project you have ever been part of, whether officially or non-officially, whether for an employer/company or casually around your home. Briefly describe the project and your role in it (were you the manager, sponsor, stakeholder, team member?). What went successfully about the project (did you accomplish the intended outcome?) and what was not fully successful about the project? In what ways did you contribute to the successful aspects of the project OR if the project was fully unsuccessful, what needed to happen to change that (by you or someone else)? Since you are likely referencing your textbook here, be sure to cite it and any other resource you refer to for this information. Unless you invented your response with no assistance from anyone or anything else, you must always cite your sources to be authentic and honest. I won't always tell you everywhere you should be citing...this is something for you to learn and work on yourself. Go back and review the plagiarism lesson as many times as is helpful, and take advantage of the Writing Center and Reference Librarians as necessary.
2. Project management includes a concept often referred to as the TRIANGLE OF TRIPLE CONSTRAINTS. The basic concept is that every project has some element of a time constraint, has some type of budget, and requires some amount of work to complete. These things define the scope of the project. Choose one of the three constraints (time or cost or scope), and explain it. Be careful that you are not typing exactly what is in the text. Provide a real-world example to help explain the topic you selected. Since you are explaining something, you wouldn't put quotation marks around what you say as a direct citation; however, you would still provide general reference to whatever source inspired your response.
3. MS PROJECT 2019. Based on what you've read and studied so far in the text, and your touring the software in Chapters 1 and 2 of the text, describe several conceptual differences between other software you use and MS Project. I realize you haven't learned MS Project yet, so this is mostly about reviewing what is written about the program. How is Microsoft Project different from Word or Excel or Access? Your explanation should clarify why software like Word or Excel or Access cannot substitute for what MS Project can schedule and track. It should also recognize the complexity of this specialty software and its use. If you are referencing examples of Word or Excel or Access from your own personal computer use, no citation would be necessary for that part. But where you talk about what MS Project can do, that would require a citation and reference.
