Hello can you briefly respond to this disscussion:

Jordan- The canalization principle discusses that "(1) there are multiple pathways along which an individual might develop, (2) nature and nurture combine to determine these pathways, and (3) either genes or environment may limit the extent to which the other factor can influence development"(Shaffer, 2014, 73). When looking at the given definition we can conclude that this controversy does not pick either side. Personally, it feels that's nature and nurture play and equal role in our development. During infancy nature is more of an influence however, the more we grow the more nurture takes over and shapes who we are. When looking at the reading it talks about how intelligences, temperament, and personality is mainly shaped through our genetics (Shaffer, 2014, 73). However, looking deeper into this theory it can simply determine it leans more towards the side of nature, and focuses our development more on our genetics, but they also support the fact that the environment also plays a critical role into who we are.
