I found the AIC Insurance Agency job on Craigslist in May 2020. What interests me about this position is that I want to improve my skill of answering phone calls to build better customer satisfaction. In addition, the company offers a great environment and flexibility. The qualifications for this position are essential computer skills, positive attitude, and organization, working with people from different cultures, ambition, and willingness to grow. I have skills that qualify me for this position, such as my experience in Microsoft, Excel, and Word. Also, I like to have everything organized, enjoy working with people and being bilingual. I applied for a CSR position, and they accepted me. I started to work as a front desk assistant, answering phone calls, handling mail, taking/delivering messages, performing data entry, scanning, printing, and faxing documents.
A CSR at an insurance trucking agency must be able to handle telephone calls satisfactorily. While answering the phone calls, I need to communicate clearly and effectively with customers and provide them with the information they need in a timely and efficient manner. An example of this would be when one customer called us to ask about a specific insurance policy. I needed to be able to explain the details of the policy clearly. When I was a CSR, I addressed challenging customer inquiries calmly and professionally, which demonstrates the development of workplace abilities and attitudes suited to the context. I have the requisite skills and attitude for customer service employment. I need to make sure that any customer questions are answered.
After I had worked there for half of the year, they offered me an accounting position. I was doing the duties such as invoicing, receipting, sending checks, processing endorsements, working on renewal preparation, and file maintenance. Later, they offered me a higher position as an agent assistant, which is currently my position. I'm creating reports and assisting with sending out renewals/new businesses. As well as fostering and seeking relationships with teammates across all levels of AIC Insurance Agency. To display a suitable level of job performance, I, as an employee, demonstrating appropriate interpersonal skills and sensitivity to the racial, ethnic, and cultural variations that may arise when interacting with internal and external consumers. In addition to these requirements, I must work well with others in a group setting, be capable of effectively managing conflicts, and conduct telephone conversations professionally.
An example of demonstrating a satisfactory job performance at my current job would be when I'm effectively communicating with customers from different cultures and backgrounds in a respectful and considerate of their differences. Numerous of our clients are Russian speakers, so I have to speak with them in Russian on time when needed. I'm using language appropriate for the customer's cultural context, being aware of and sensitive to cultural norms and expectations around communication, and being able to adapt their communication style to meet the customer's needs. A satisfactory job performance, I'm as an employee there always needed to work well with others, has a positive attitude, be professional, and arrive on time.
As a customer service representative (CSR) at an insurance trucking agency, I learned how to resolve disputes between customers, trucking businesses, and other parties professionally and effectively. One scenario occurred if a customer complained about a trucking business alleging that their package had been damaged somehow. It was necessary for me as CSR to investigate the claim and give all needed information to the customer to resolve the problem for the customer and the trucking company. Furthermore, I learned about practical time management in the workplace skill. For example, working at an insurance trucking agency, I, as a CSR, needed to juggle multiple tasks at once, such as handling customer inquiries, processing insurance claims, and managing paperwork. Time management skills enable me to prioritize tasks, stay organized, and meet deadlines.
Also, I learned about work ethics; those ethics refer to the values and principles that guide an individual's work behavior. For instance, at insurance trucking agency me working as a
CSR may be expected to have a strong work ethic, including being punctual, reliable, and honest. A strong work ethic can help me to be successful in my role and build trust with customers and colleagues. This job also gave me a lot of skills in problem-solving. Problem-solving skills are essential in any workplace. Working at AIC Insurance Agency, I needed to troubleshoot customer issues or resolve claims. Problem-solving skills involve identifying and assessing problems and finding creative and effective solutions. As we as, interpersonal relations; those skills include communicating and interacting with others effectively.
