Hello,

I am having some difficulty arriving at the correct solution to this problem

Overall I am not confident in my approach when solving this problem and I would like to kindly compare and learn how to properly solve this problem.

altogether between both parts, I get 2.3 as an answer but this is considered wrong and when I get 2/3 this is also considered wrong? I'm not quite sure where my error lies.

In-depth Steps with explanations are greatly appreciated, as it would help me with learning the whole process and finding my error!

Thank you very much for your expert help!

Problem 2. A probability distribution on the real line is a mixture of two classes +1 and 1 with density N (0, 1) (normal distribution with mean 1 and variance 1) and N (2, 1), with prior probabilities (probability of each class) 0.4 and 0.6 respectively. What is the Bayes decision rule? Give an estimate for the Bayes risk. Problem 3. Consider the setting of the previous problem. Estimate the expected loss of the 1-NN classier (assume that innitely many training data points are available). What is the empirical loss of 1-NN
