Hello, I am trying to figure the amortization expense amount for a company trademark in its 3rd year of use. The initial cost is 2300. On my unadjusted trial balance it is stating 2300. I need to make the adjusting journal entry for year end on dec-31. Would the amount be the 2300 / 10 (years of life a trademark has?) so it would be:

Debit to amortization expense : $230

Credit to Accumulated Amortization: $230
