I had to state my opinion below on the following news article and need an opinion. Can you please check my work, and tell me what i should add?

My Opinion:

The United States was hit by the corona virus in March of 2020. No one knew how much this was going to affect our lives, and our daily lives. Every place was shut down, people went into unemployment, and we were all in lockdown not knowing when we were going back to the normalcy that we grew up with. This article that I had found talks about how people that have problems with drug and alcohol use are more prone to get COVID, and have severe symptoms. Researchers are strongly recommending that people with substance abuse need to get the COVID vaccine to make sure they are being safe. According to Robert Preidt (HealthDay reporter) 22.5% of people who suffer from substance abuse disorder were hospitalized with COVID. I believe this is a public health issue not a criminal justice issue. The reason I believe this is a public health issue is because COVID is a huge health issue that is still around in the United States today. Substance abuse is still a huge issue in the United States to this day, but some states have recognized marijuana to be legal.
