Hello, I hope all is well. I had a question regarding a buyout of a US-listed company by a non-US-listed company and what happens to an individual's investment portfolio.

Say an investor had 500 shares of Nokia (NOK) on a US Ameritrade account.

Nokia is a Finnish company but is traded on the US Stock Exchange. Samsung is a Korean company but is Not traded on the US Stock exchange. Samsung is not available to trade on Ameritrade or any other US retail broker.

What are the implications on the stock portfolio if Samsung were to buyout Nokia? The investor most likely won't be able to get Samsung shares as it is not traded at the brokerage. So is it an all-cash transaction or something else? Any information would be helpful.
