Hello, I need help responding to my classmate for a discussion question.
The discussion question is:
Few organizations perform a thorough level of testing prior to adopting a new system.
What are reasons for this? provide examples of steps that can be taken to ensure proper testing.
I don't know what to respond to my classmate. I am not looking for an answer to the discussion question. I am looking for help on what to respond to the the post that my classmate made.
Below is the post that my classmate made from the question. I am required to reply by providing feedback on my thoughts about the post. Whether I agree with or not. I can provide more insight info regards to the topic. etc.
1. I think that some of the reason behind testing a system is to ensure that the end user or customer is getting what they requested. Since some organizations have reputations to manage it is important that they stay on top of issues and fix them in house (IBM, 2022). This helps prevent loosing customers over frustration of the product (IBM, 2022). "Consider Nissan having to recall over 1 million cars due to a software defect in the airbag sensor detectors. Or a software bug that caused the failure of a USD 1.2 billion military satellite launch.2The numbers speak for themselves. Software failures in the US cost the economy USD 1.1 trillion in assets in 2016. What's more, they impacted 4.4 billion customers." (IBM, 2022). Another reason that a organization might do extensive testing is to save money. By doing early testing they can figure out problems sooner with feedback.
