Hello, I need help responding to my classmate for a discussion question.
The discussion question is:
Few organizations perform a thorough level of testing prior to adopting a new system.
What are reasons for this? provide examples of steps that can be taken to ensure proper testing.
I don't know what to respond to my classmate. I am not looking for an answer to the discussion question. I am looking for help on what to respond to the the post that my classmate made.
Below is the post that my classmate made from the question. I am required to reply by providing feedback on my thoughts about the post. Whether I agree with or not. I can provide more insight info regards to the topic. etc.
1. Organizations (understandably) want a system that simply works, and they don't want to go through the added testing of systems. This could be because the organization does not want to spend funds on testing or there is a pressing timeline. Plus testing a system does not give a tangible result, which may make it more difficult to justify (Molin, 2021).
Although many organizations see testing a system as low priority, the question that needs to be asked is if the system works properly. The system should be measured against the requirements of the organization to verify the system is indeed the right tool for the job, or perhaps there are features missing from the system. The best way to include testing in the adoption of a new system is to include testing in the system plan. Part of planning for the integration of a new system is to evaluate risk, cost, and time. In this evaluation should be how testing will affect these categories, and how testing will fit into all of them.
