Establishing Financial Goals The purpose of this writing assignment is to encourage you to focus on how your personal goals and plans will change over your financial planning life cycle and to help you be specific in setting your goals by designating dollar amounts and dates. Students often indicate they are taking this class to learn better money management skills. Look up the recommendations of money management and personal finance experts to see what you think about their suggested budgeting models. There are several different models, for example, 50/20/30:50% of your income for living expenses, 20% into long-term savings, 30% for flexible spending, and unplanned expenses. Write a one-page paper (at least 250 words) in which you identify three financial goals: one short-term, one intermediate and one long-term. Please note headings are not included in the one page. The font should be 12-point with normal margins. Outline a detailed plan for achieving at least one of the goals. Goals must be specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and with a time frame.
