Hello, I need to complete this assignment before midnight and I will give a good rate.

The purpose of this assignment is to (a) understand and practice interpersonal, group, and public communication skills, and (b) engage interest in your community, consistent with Gen Ed Goal 1, as well as YSU Mission and Vision Statements.

Small-Group Communication Exercise

"Groups are everywhere. You belong to some groups for fun and to some for profit. You join some to increase your prestige, and you join others simply because you must. Some help you fulfill personal or professional objectives, and others meet your moral and ethical needs and give you a sense of well-being. Groups help you define who you are. The groups to which you belong or aspire to belong tell you about your preferences and goals. The groups you refuse to join tell about your dislikes, fears, and values. Groups are a great impact on your daily life, and you need to belong to several of them to survive in today's world.

"Some of your most important communication will take place in one group or another. It is estimated that over 11 million meetings are held each day and that at least 40 percent of your work life will be spent attending group meetings and conferences. A recent survey showed that the typical executive spends about 700 hours per year interacting in groups. That is the equivalent of two of every five days on the job. Thus, knowing how to relate to others in a group setting is not only vital if you are to attain personal success but also if you are to attain professional success." (Gamble & Gamble,Communication Works, p. 267)

Group Activity

A local philanthropist loves to donate his time and money towards worthy causes.Every year he chooses a different cause to support and he is looking for help in choosing a cause.

The philanthropist has hired your consulting firm (your group) to help him find a worthy cause to donate to.This cause can be located at any level--local, state, national, or global. As a group, you must engage in group discussion and try to come to a consensus on a worthy cause. However, this activity should begin with each member of the group brainstorming a variety of worthy causes INDIVIDUALLY so that you will have something to contribute to the GROUP discussion. This brainstorming is done by completing the Individual RTM (please see the questions below) on your own and submitting it on BB.

Individual RTM

The Individual RTM utilizes the Reflective Thinking Method, as discussed in your textbook. The goal of this document is to work individually to synthesize your ideas and come up with a cause that you can pitch to your group members. Each person within the group must complete the RTM individually. You will submit this RTM draft to Blackboard.

Here is the instructor's messege about the assignment:

t is now time to work on the Group Project. You've been emailed your groups and they are listed in BB.

  1. Your first job is to read the instructions found on the How to Complete the Individual RTM page.
  2. Then Individually think of a Non-profit Group that you find interesting. Complete your Individual Group RTM based on that Group.
  3. Your Group will then meet online (the online link is on BB) and discuss your Individual RTMs. Your online meeting must be recorded. Your group will then decide which non-profit your group wants to research for your project.
  4. Once that is decided, your groupmates will research together or divide up the parts and complete your Group RTM together.
  5. Once that is completed and submitted, your group will work together to create your outline and ppts for your presentation.
  6. You will record your group presentation and ppts on Bongo.
  7. I am looking for Extemporaneous speaking techniques that are required in all speeches.
  8. And lastly each of you will individually submit a Group Assessment.
