Hello,
I will be using my own opinion on this discussion post so there will be no work cited below. After reviewing the videos above I have examined that this would be considered misfeasance because I think it was a failure to perform a legal duty in a proper manner. I say this because in the videos provided on the news channel you can see that the police officers are pointing guns at this family and also taking the opportunity to take advantage of their power by manhandling the woman. You can also see in the video that a child was with the family so this to me seems like a little much. I noticed that the abuse consisted of rough handling, pointing of guns, and just overall aggressiveness. I do believe that the police should held to a higher standard because like the chief of police said, this was a crime, but it was not exactly handled in the correct way. I have read articles in the past that I do not have the link to discuss different programs within police stations that are basically classes teaching police officers how to handle situations with less excessive force. I think that the internal investigation did end up a just punishment to the police officers. I feel like this could somewhat go along with consequentialism because the big moral decision at hand involves the punishment.
