The spring is weighed and a mass of (154.5 0.5) g is measured. The conical spring is attached vertically to a metal rod to which we attach a hook with a platform. This platform allows us to pile up discs which change the force applied to the spring by gravity. A long ruler is also attached to the rod which allows us to measure the position of the platform, the position increasing downwards. Figure 1 shows the setup with the spring, the platform, the ruler, and the disks.

Note : For all questions, assume that the acceleration due to gravity is = 9.8 m/s2 without uncertainty.
