Critics of our nation's Tort System say that there are several problems with it. Going to court is too expensive. Civil cases take too long. Tort Law is too complicated and it is too difficult to prove who is at fault. The amount of money awarded in damages is sometimes unreasonably too high. Do you agree with any of these critiques? Do you think the system is out of control? Explain. Some people have suggested ways to improve the system. For instance, encouraging people to settle their differences before heading to court. Or community mediation programs for parties in conflict. Or requiring people to carry no fault insnnance. Do any of these ideas appeal to you? Explain.
