This year we decided to participate in bring your kids to work day. The initial planning started with our human resources team. We had over 50 employees registered and more than 50 kids. We wanted the event to be both a learning and fun experience. We discussed the thought with team members from various departments. We had the events coordinator, safety, production, sanitation, food quality control and others involved. It was important to know that we were all in agreement with the event and committed. We worked on the project for a few months. At the beginning we did not agree on everything, but we discussed and listened to everyone's input. (Cesare, N.) Employees working in teams have better access to mentorship and peers who can check their work and make recommendations for improvement. The day of the event, there were numerous activities and everything from start to finish was a success. These projects and group examples have helped me in my personal life as well. I belong to a women's ministry group at church. When discussing an event our next steps is finding women who have the same vision and willing to help. In our group meetings we brainstorm together, encourage, and hold each other accountable. We all must own the boat.
