Hello tutor, could you help in answering the following questions by using the data sets provided below. Thanks

Questions

1) Using the Analysis ToolPak in Excel, generate a table of Descriptive (Summary) Statistics for "Weekly Expenses". Type R2 in the Output Range field. Resize the columns "R" and "S" by double clicking a short vertical line between the column headers

2) State the mean and standard deviation, to 2 decimals, using the context of the data

3). Give the 5-number summary for "Weekly Expenses". Correctly order and label the summary statistics in Cells U4:U8. Place the corresponding values in Cells V4:V8. . Copy and paste the 10 cells (S4:T8)

For questions 4-6: Both the Descriptive Statistics Table from #1 and the 5-number summary from #3 provide the values of the Minimum and Maximum Weekly Expenses. Determine if the Minimum and/or Maximum Weekly Expenses are outliers by using two different methods: the 5-number summary and the z-score.

4) For the 5-number summary method: use Excel and the 5-number summary (from #3) to compute the interquartile range (IQR). Then use the IQR to compute the lower and upper limits for determining outliers.

IQR= ______

Lower Limit= _____

Upper Limit = _______

5) Can either the Minimum or Maximum Weekly Expenses be considered an outlier?

6) The z-score method requires a bell-shaped data distribution, the sample mean, and the sample standard deviation (which are provided in the Descriptive Statistics Table from #1). Using Excel, compute the z-scores for the minimum and the maximum Weekly Expenses.

Label

Value (x)

z-score

If the data distribution were bell-shaped, would this be consider an outlier?

Minimum

Maximum

7) Interpret the maximum z-score in Question 5 in the context of the story

8)Develop a Boxplot for "Weekly Expenses". Change the title to: "____'s Boxplot of Weekly Expenses for Purdue Undergraduates"

9)Specify the number of outliers in Boxplot. Are they high or low outliers?
