Question 1: Replication is an important part of the scientific method. Researcher A's results ought to be reproducible when Research B follows the same methods. The studies in the video cannot be done today; therefore, the results can't be replicated. Does this mean the studies have no scientific value? Explain your answer.
No, because even though the methods cannot be replicated today doesn't mean that the study itself doesn't have scientific value. For instance, scientists can often learn from the mistakes of others before them so that they can fix or improve upon what was done before by those who came before them. However, I also believe that not only can you improve upon the mistakes of others you can also build upon the success of those that came before you. It's especially true in the case of modern medicine because certain methods that were effective decades ago are still effective even now, like vaccines. In the 1800s there were vaccinations for smallpox and rabies to the point where in modern times it seems crazy to even think of those viruses as a major threat on a global scale anymore. Vaccinations and studies have come a long way since then due to the failures and successes of those scientists who came before and there's still plenty of scientific value in both the successes and the failures of those studies.
