The wet polymer film continuously enters the drying process, where a cross flow of air flows over its top surface. The evaporation rate of the acetone from the polymer film is limited by convective mass transfer. After crossing the drying region at a speed of 10cm/s, the dried polymer film is then rolled up into a bundle. As shown in the figure, the width of the thin polymer film is 1.5m and the exposed length is 3.5m. The flowing air has a temperature of 20C and total system pressure of 0.93atm. The wet polymer film is also maintained at 20C. The vapor pressure of acetone at the surface of the film can be assumed to be the saturation vapor pressure, which is 24.5kPa at 20C.
